Being Human on NetFlix: Lately, I’ve been watching the UK version of Being Human. It’s the story of a ghost, vampire, and werewolf attempting to pass themselves off as human. It’s really quite excellent: funny and touching, but with some solidly serious elements too.

We rented the first episode of Being Human, and were initially kind of disoriented: It was advertised as a comedy, but most of its content seemed quite serious and even dramatic. But once we figured that out it seemed pretty good. We should go back to it . . . but right now we’re finishing up season two of Mad Men and season two of Dexter. . . .

It is too bad that the “Romans Go Home” graffiti was destroyed by Vesuvius. I’d have liked to have seen all the conjugate verb forms in the original Latin.
