A while back, my father wrote in an e-mail to family with lots of pictures from a JAYC (sailing) reunion, “Notice how photogenic I am.” Yup, that cracked me up. Humility does not run in my family, thank goodness! Plus, he’s right! Look how great he looks!
Oh, and I love beards! To me, a good beard projects the warmth and benevolence of my father. I’ve never known my father without his beard, and I’m pretty sure that I’d have to disown him if he ever shaved it off.
(We’re visiting my parents now, so this post seemed appropriate!)
