OList Socials: The Chat Experiment

Thanks to Earl Parson and William Green, many OList subscribers have been enjoying regular chats on Twitter on Tuesday evenings and Sunday mornings. Some conversations have been pure silly fun, but we’ve definitely had some substantive conversations about careers, activism, children, and the like.

I’ve been a bit frustrated, however, with Twitter as a medium for these chats. So as an experiment, we’re moving the next Sunday Brunch to a private chat server. If you’re on an OList, you’ll receive an e-mail from me tomorrow morning with the URL, login, and password.

We hope that more of you OList’ers will join us for these chats! (We have a limit of 50 people at a time right now.)

The Brunch will be at its usual time — from 12 to 1 pm ET (11 am – 12 pm CT, 10 – 11 am MT, 9 – 10 am PT). That’s just after my Rationally Selfish Webcast.

The Tuesday Happy Hour runs on Tuesdays, from 9 to 10 pm ET (8 – 9 pm CT, 7 – 8 pm MT, 6 – 7 pm PT).

If we like the new chat, we’ll move both the Brunch and the Happy Hour from Twitter to this private chat server permanently.
