Fred Jenson wrote me a delightful e-mail about my paper on false excuses. He said:
There are only two excuses and they cover every stupid thing you (and I) have
ever done in our lives.1. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
2. I forgot.I have yet to find a screw up that one of these doesn’t cover.
Sounds about right to me!
