One of the many delights of visiting my excellent parents on their beautiful, secluded farm is that I am able to enjoy my mother’s paintings. Although she’s drawn and painted for as long as I can remember, she’s only diligently pursued her skills in watercolor in recent years — with great success. So whenever I return home, I’m able to enjoy the fruits of her artistic labor.
Her paintings are particularly meaningful to me, since she often paints quiet scenes from around the farm on which I enjoyed much of my later childhood. Even her paintings of other settings have the same quiet feel to them.
At some point, I’d like to hang full-sized well-made framed prints of my favorites on our walls. In the meantime, I simply shot a few with my digital camera when I was home recently. They turned out remarkably well, all in all. So here’s a few, with larger versions just a click away.
(That last of the stream is actually in pastels, but I like it so much that I had to include it!)
