- 23 Dogs Who Are Too Adorably Stupid For Their Own Good: My favorites are #5 and #23, by a long shot.
- 2 Paths of Bayer Drug in 80′s: Riskier One Steered Overseas: Bayer should have paid dearly for its negligence (if not recklessness) in selling drugs containing HIV to hemophiliacs overseas, when the risk was known and safer drugs were available. Alas, that doesn’t seem to have happened. The fact is that profits and morality do not always go hand-in-hand, at least not in the short run — and some companies will cut corners for the sake of profits. Such is why I’m a defender of individual rights and capitalism, not business or industry per se.
- 28 Things That Happened After The Harry Potter Books Ended: You can’t but smile at these, if you’re a Harry Potter fan! (FYI: I have an essay on honesty and self-deception in this fun volume: Harry Potter and Philosophy.)
- A Star Philosopher Falls, and a Debate Over Sexism Is Set Off: Surprise, surprise! The asshat philosopher Colin McGinn has been outed lecherous pervert without any respect for women. (The discussion of sexism in philosophy departments in this article isn’t particularly good, unfortunately.)
- 13 Travel Tips That Will Make You Feel Smart: I like #4 and #11!
- @AndyRichter’s Dick Pic Tweet: “I like to be current so here’s a dick pic selfie I took in the WB locker room. I think I’m doing something wrong.” HEH. It’s SFW.
- Lawyer Begs For Job Via Mass Email, Includes Picture of His Toned Arms — Because Why Not?: No, just no.
- Doctor Who, BBC One, comment about ginger hair, 1 January 2010: The BBC responds to complaints about the supposed bias against gingers in Doctor Who. *sigh*
- New Owner Of The Washington Post: Print Newspapers Will Be Dead In 20 Years: I agree with Doug Mataconis… 20 years is too “optimistic” — or rather, too pessimistic. (Hooray for change! I hate printed newspapers!)
