When I started watching football regularly about six years ago or so, I fell in football love with Doug Flutie. It was all-too-apparent that the man really loves to play the game — and often does so stunningly well. At almost 43 years old, it’s amazing that he’s still playing at all. (The article reports that he’s running rings around some of the younger players!)
Unfortunately, Flutie is backing up Tom Brady on the Patriots this year. That’s all well and good for him, but it creates a serious conflict of interest for me, since the Pats have crushed my beloved Colts these past few years. Unfortunately for Flutie, Peyton Manning does take precedence in my complicated hierarchy of rooting.
Ah, it’s good to worship at the Church of the NFL again!
