A few years ago, I read a bunch of very interesting books on self-defense by Mark “Animal” MacYoung. He focuses on the cognitive skills of avoiding and evading danger, not fighting techniques. Since MacYoung happens to live in Castle Rock, the town just east of Sedalia, Paul and I will probably take one of his courses one of these days.
